Test Drive 006
Here is our Fifth Test Drive Meme! There are a lot of areas of the city to explore, so please have a look around! In case you need a little help getting started, I've included a few prompts below, or feel free to start your own! Exploration and player initiative are the names of the game here!
Arrival & General Information | Setting & Bestiary | Locales & Businesses | Residences & Housing Info | Rules & FAQ (ask questions here!)
I. Crash Into MeNot exactly, but close enough. You have just arrived and received a strange satchel from a tiny, strange little man and are left more or less to your own devices (more information on what to expect upon arrival can be found here)! Follow directions to the north and check out the housing, or maybe have a look around the Historium and try to get some information from that giant glowing ball, see what you can waste your meager starter coin on in the Market District, or maybe just meet the neighbors.II. What Goes Bump in the Night
It looks like Aterat proper has a spirit problem. Maybe you're seeing specters, hearing disembodied voices, your windows rattle when there's no breeze outside. Maybe there are cold spots in your place of business (or your apartment, which is so much worse). Either way, you're 100% convinced you're haunted. Hopefully, someone else believes you, or maybe you're used to feeling crazy.III. When the Carnival Came to Town?
Take a look at the prompts from our latest event and go to town (or the carnival).IV. Try the Network
The Tell-Phone allows for text, video, and audio transmissions to everyone else who has one. Give it a whirl!V. Wildcard
The above prompts are all options, and there's much more to the setting than what they provide. Do your best (or your worst)!
v. wildcard (the market district tavern)
Sure, his default when his journey began back in the last world had been discovering the deliciousness of Oreos, but that was only after he hadn’t found alcohol at the time.
He was currently between work and home, Rhy was working late, so he’d settled at the tavern to grab a bite and a drink until it was time to go walk his husband home. So it was hard to not raise a brow as someone sitting nearby seemed satisfied with their drink. A new face, at that. “If you think the drinks are good, you should try the food too.” He commented with a light hum. Was any of this his business? No, but Llewellyn didn’t always think about that before he spoke up. Mouth moved faster than his common sense, sometimes.

And sometimes, the locals even struck up conversations with the out-of-towners, for news from outside, or just for the novelty. Case in point. Cole took a sip from the glass he'd been given, very pleased with just how strong that amber liquid was, and smiled over at this newcomer. "That's kind of you to offer the new guy. I'll take you up on that."

“Well, Raimon’s welcome bag is uh- helpful enough… But I think there’s something to be said for working out the good places to eat in a new place. First meals are important.” He responded, gesturing to the tavern keeper to add on to his order. Seemed only right, after all. “Or I presume first meal- since I can’t say how long you might consider still calling yourself ‘the new guy.’”

He chuckled as the guy kept talking, slightly sardonic as he did so. "Yeah, almost as important as last ones." Ambiguous, sure, but he wasn't trying to steer the conversation to last rites. "Depends. What perks does 'the new guy' get?"

Llewellyn hummed, tapping the countertop thoughtfully. “Usually questions answered and offers of assistance are the standard ‘perks’ to being new, and in this case, a hot meal.” He added with a gesture to the countertop, where a couple of small dishes were set in front of him. It seemed like a decent enough offer, and it wasn’t like a lot of the questions people asked had proper answers yet. At least beyond the basics and recommendations.

"Well, thanks for the grub, pal." He nodded and downed the rest of his glass of amber liquid, enjoying the burn, before sliding the glass to the other side of the bar to indicate he'd like a refill. "This isn't like drinking the Koolaid, is it?"
Fully aware that reference may be well beyond Mr. Tweed. He'd actually asked it specifically to gauge just such a thing.

He paused with a small, confused tilt of his head at the question. Cole shouldn’t feel bad. A lot of references went over his head, even some that he should know. “Uh… Koolaid… That’s the powder drink stuff, isn’t it?” He was pretty sure he’d seen the kids drinking that sometimes in the last world… Odd, colourful, powdery stuff. He hadn’t cared for it.
“Well, I would say drinking would be like drinking the koolaid? What’s sitting in front of you is food to eat, so a little different, I’d think.” He responded finally, with a gesture at the glass he’d just asked for a refill on, then at the plate in front of him.
