Test Drive 006
WELCOME TO ATERAT

Here is our Fifth Test Drive Meme! There are a lot of areas of the city to explore, so please have a look around! In case you need a little help getting started, I've included a few prompts below, or feel free to start your own! Exploration and player initiative are the names of the game here!

Helpful Links to Get Started

Arrival & General Information | Setting & Bestiary | Locales & Businesses | Residences & Housing Info | Rules & FAQ (ask questions here!)

I. Crash Into Me
Not exactly, but close enough. You have just arrived and received a strange satchel from a tiny, strange little man and are left more or less to your own devices (more information on what to expect upon arrival can be found here)! Follow directions to the north and check out the housing, or maybe have a look around the Historium and try to get some information from that giant glowing ball, see what you can waste your meager starter coin on in the Market District, or maybe just meet the neighbors.
II. What Goes Bump in the Night
It looks like Aterat proper has a spirit problem. Maybe you're seeing specters, hearing disembodied voices, your windows rattle when there's no breeze outside. Maybe there are cold spots in your place of business (or your apartment, which is so much worse). Either way, you're 100% convinced you're haunted. Hopefully, someone else believes you, or maybe you're used to feeling crazy.
III. When the Carnival Came to Town?
Take a look at the prompts from our latest event and go to town (or the carnival).
IV. Try the Network
The Tell-Phone allows for text, video, and audio transmissions to everyone else who has one. Give it a whirl!
V. Wildcard
The above prompts are all options, and there's much more to the setting than what they provide. Do your best (or your worst)!

Until just that moment, Ren's footsteps were the only ones to be heard in the dark alley, and he found himself pressing a hand to his forehead, reaching out with senses he rarely used outside the Metaverse. They told him two things: one, that there was no cat, Morgana or otherwise, in the alley, and two, that there was someone else, a stranger, nearby. He kept his breathing even, and by all appearances the 16 year old was used to pretty intense situations where caution was necessary to survive.

But he also knew he was supposed to be a normal 16 year old with normal curiosities, not a thief who'd garnered international infamy as a 'stealer of hearts'. He adjusted his glasses, using a finger to push them up the bridge of his nose, a once foreign but now familiar gesture with the non-prescription specs, a purchase he'd made what seemed a lifetime ago to seem less imposing (it had worked for the most part), and stepped closer to the newcomer, into the light from a nearby streetlamp, looking uncertain.

He'd learned people were willing to believe you were harmless if you acted the part. He kept his hands visible and his stance cautious, though there was a smoothness to his gait and the movement of his arms that could suggest to a trained eye that the by all appearances gangly if physically fit young man was capable of holding his own.

"Oh, uh, good evening. You...didn't see a black cat with white boots come this way, did you?" He noted the sword hilt visible over Angeal's shoulder and felt the emptiness left by his own dagger. He really ought to look into replacing that.

Angeal stood his ground but then slowly watched the boy come into view. This place was strange to him to say the least and running into kids at night wasn't something he was used to. Even here it seemed parents kept their children inside unless the children didn't have anywhere to go as he'd been told by people who decided a former First Class Soldier didn't look that intimidating.

Looking at the boy now, he shook his head. "I can't say I've seen any cats tonight." Not that he was looking, but he was sure that a cat would've jumped out of his way or made some sort of noise to make him aware of their presence.

And for now, he withheld a lecture he would've given to Zack had the boy been up past his bedtime at this one's age.
