Test Drive 005
Here is our Fifth Test Drive Meme! There are a lot of areas of the city to explore, so please have a look around! In case you need a little help getting started, I've included a few prompts below, or feel free to start your own! Exploration and player initiative are the names of the game here!
Arrival & General Information | Setting & Bestiary | Locales & Businesses | Residences & Housing Info | Rules & FAQ (ask questions here!)
I. Crash Into MeNot exactly, but close enough. You have just arrived and received a strange satchel from a tiny, strange little man and are left more or less to your own devices (more information on what to expect upon arrival can be found here)! Follow directions to the north and check out the housing, or maybe have a look around the Historium and try to get some information from that giant glowing ball, see what you can waste your meager starter coin on in the Market District, or maybe just meet the neighbors.II. What Goes Bump in the Night
It looks like Aterat proper has a spirit problem. Maybe you're seeing specters, hearing disembodied voices, your windows rattle when there's no breeze outside. Maybe there are cold spots in your place of business (or your apartment, which is so much worse). Either way, you're 100% convinced you're haunted. Hopefully, someone else believes you, or maybe you're used to feeling crazy.III. A Mean, Green Mother from where now?
There's a pollen problem in the city, and by that we mean it's everywhere. Yellowish green pollen seems to be caked-on everything with the misfortune of being outside, whether it's windows, banisters, carts, you name it. If it's outside for a duration of time, it's a free game to have a layer of dust settled upon it, and it plays havoc on anyone who breathes it in. Allergic to pollen? Your allergies are horrible. Not allergic, well, you might just have the sniffles anyway, and another problem. You seem to be completely unable to tell a lie. Not only that, but you feel the overwhelming need to tell people things you'd usually keep to yourself. Maybe you like to put cream in your coca-cola (you monster) or maybe you've done something terrible and you really need to get it off your chest either in person or over the network.IV. Try the Network
The Tell-Phone allows for text, video, and audio transmissions to everyone else who has one. Give it a whirl!V. Wildcard
The above prompts are all options, and there's much more to the setting than what they provide. Do your best (or your worst)!
Angel "Inesa" - Original Character
Her hand reached out towards the sky as a sweet voice escaped from pink lips. " Olpirt," With that single spoken word the clouds began to drift and thin. In their place, a warm bright sun filled the heavens, kissing the young woman's cheek with its radiant touch.
Tears welled up in her eyes and while standing in the middle of the thoroughfare, the young woman began to weep.
[ Network – Voice ]
[She is standing outside as she attempts to greet those who had been brought into the city with her. This isn't the first time she's been taken to a world like this, but she hadn't expected to remember her time living beneath the water.
In comparison, this world was much nicer.]
Excuse me. I hope this works. [Her voice is sweet and feminine.] Oh. There we are. I'll start again.
Hello.
I'd like to know more about the people here. Nothing intrusive or invasive. But I can imagine that this city, this world, is much larger than it appears, and I'd like to learn more about it. Thank you, in advance, for your time.
I would also like to know if any of my acquaintances have arrived as well. Jon or Rhys or… anyone who remembers the name Inesa? It was given to me as a gift.
Thank you.
[ Wildcard ]
Crash Into Me
What he wasn't expecting, as he warmed under the sun, was the form there. A distant woman who looked familiar. Before he could help himself Rhy started to walk faster, before jogging. It was not dignified, but it was his haste to see someone he cared for that drove him.
"Inesa!" he called out when he was almost in arm's length. "Teacher!"
Crash Into Me
"Rhy. You're here too." A cute sniffle wrinkled her nose and try as she might, the tears didn't stop. "I am so sorry. I am truly happy to see you but-" Her voice cracked as she dragged her palm along her cheek. "I cannot seem to stop crying." Inesa had never cried tears of joy before.
no subject
"Come now, dry your tears if you can. What makes you so sad?"
no subject
"I just missed the sky so much. I did not realize how much. And you are here too." She looked up at Rhy and smiled. "I have never been so happy before."
no subject
With that Rhy tucks his hands into his pockets so he can warm them.
"Llewellyn is here too, and Pretzel. And perhaps others."
no subject
"I missed it. There was never this space in the Sphere." The sphere was beautiful in its own way but it wasn't the same.
Inesa turned to face Rhys with her usual warm smile. "I am happy to see you. No matter where we are. Have you continued your sewing?" She wasn't sure if there was a shop here but she'd like to continue sewing and designing clothes.
no subject
"I have continued, I am the full time apprentice at A Cut Above. They do clothing for men and women, and embroidery. I helped with a wedding even!"
His pride for that was insanely high. Why would it not be, when he had learned to make with his own hands and from her? "There are positions for full time seamstresses and tailors. Designers even. You would enjoy the work if you wished. Or you could start your own shop."
no subject
Inesa shook her head, "I do not need my own shop. I only had done that then because there was no place for fabric. And I would be happy to be able to work with you again." There was still more for Rhys to learn and perhaps there were skills that he could teach Inesa as well.
It was exciting to think about her new life here. Though she wondered if her gate magic would be blocked like it had been in the Sphere. She'd have to experiment at a later time.

Network - Voice!!!!
Scrambling to hit the button to respond and open the voice function, he hushed Pretzel.]
Sh-shhh… Bud, give me a sec-!
Oh, yes? Hello? Inesa, is that really you??? It’s um- it’s Llewellyn! [A bark,] And Pretzel!
We didn’t expect to hear from you again. Where are you? Did you just arrive?
[Oh, wow. Rhy would be thrilled by this.]
Network - Voice!!!!
[He can hear the warmth of her smile through the phone.]
Yes. It is me. I arrived just a bit ago. I was not sure if I knew anyone else here.
I am so happy to hear from you.
no subject
[It was so good to hear a familiar voice, they'd definitely missed her quite a bit.]
There are actually a few of us from the Sphere arrived? Rhy’s here as well! Well- not here as in next to me at this exact moment. I believe he’s out... But he arrived around the same time as I did. He’ll be very glad to find out you're here.
no subject
[Her head tilts to the side, suddenly uncertain.]
Truly? [Her voice brightens. It's like a dream. She's with the people she loves but is also able to see the sky. Perhaps one day she'll feel comfortable enough to fly again.] Is Jon here too?
no subject
[He shook his head though, that didn’t matter. She was here now, and that was what mattered.]
Truly! I could hardly lie about that, you know. [There was a fond grin in his voice, though his tone dipped apologetically at the mention of Jon.] I’m… Afraid not. I haven’t seen him since shortly after you left the Sphere. I’m sorry I don’t have better news about that.
no subject
I see.
[It's sad but not as sad as other things. It's best to move forward and see what she can do here.]
But you are here and Rhys too. I am happy to see you both.
No matter where we are.
no subject
[But she was right, the three of them were here now and that was a lovely thing… They could all make up for lost time! And even if Jon wasn’t yet… Well, it seemed like people could arrive at any time. If he and Rhy had arrived so long ago, and now she was here… Who knew?]
I know I’m quite pleased to hear from you again. You’ve been greatly missed. I Um- I certainly look forward to seeing you to catch up on missed time.
[Darn if he isn’t feeling fidgety enough now to go see if he can find her!]
It will be nice to share our time in this place. It’s… complicated at times, but the upsides are rather nice compared to the Sphere. The sky, the weather! There are even animals here, in their natural habitats!
no subject
I would like that. Perhaps I can find new tea's in this city.
[It is a new whole new world to explore.]
Really? Perhaps I can get Lancelot a new friend. [She likes having animals around her. It's like another type of family.]

There's something round, like they used to have in the Sphere. Maybe that?]
Inesa?
...Is this working? Is this how I do this?
no subject
[She grips the phone so tight that her knuckles turn white.] Goodness Jon. You are here. Thank whatever gods brought us here. [Inesa closes her eyes and tries to hold back her tears.]
I am here. I can hear you.
no subject
[It's a relief. Even though he learned about a strange new world in the Sphere, he's still glad to know that there's someone familiar to be there while he navigates this strange new world. Also, it's just nice to have someone familiar. One fewer person he has to say goodbye to.]
Where are you?
no subject
I think it is at the center of the town.
Where are you?
no subject
[He doesn't know how to describe it. He's still learning this place.]
Stay there. I'll find you.
no subject
[Though she does start to look around, seeing if she can spot Jon's familiar figure.]

Is this seat taken?
no subject
Jon!
[She turns her mouth forming into a warm happy grin.]
Of course not. I saved it just for you.
[She wants to hug him or hold him; just to make sure that he's really here.]
